About the challenge

Participants can also choose their own topic and create project. Following the theme is not mandatory but recommended.
Why BUHack?
Beginner-Focused: No prior hackathon experience needed. Mentors available throughout.
Project-Based Learning: Participants apply skills from our workshop series in a real, guided hackathon.

Note: Attendance to Inperson Closing Ceremony is mandatory to obtain certificate for the hackathon.

Undergraduate students from all Hong Kong universities
What to Build
Participants are encouraged to align their projects with the hackathon theme and develop innovative solutions that effectively showcase their ideas. BUHack is designed to be beginner-friendly and emphasizes creativity, video presentations, design, and technical implementation.
AI Policy
The use of generative AI is permitted during the competition. However, all submissions must clearly indicate any AI utilized to ensure a fair evaluation process for all participants.
