Supercollider presents: A roundtable for Toronto's community leaders to collide and share tactics, solve problems, and build a stronger tech ecosystem.
We are hosting a recurring, no-fluff meetup exclusively for community leaders defined by three key pillars:
A format that gives leaders a chance to discuss topics that are important to youA fun twist that allows the most generous leaders to jump the discussion queueDifferent locations each time as a chance to "test drive" venues you could host your events at
Toronto's tech landscape is a galaxy of brilliant communities. Dozens of meetups, conferences, and hackathons light up the city, creating incredible events. But they often operate in isolated orbits—hidden silos of passion and knowledge.
We believe that by colliding the leaders of these communities, we can spark a high-energy reaction: a more connected, collaborative, and resilient tech ecosystem.
⚛️ Supercollider is the catalyst.
It’s a place to solve real problems, share resources, and create a support network of fellow organizers, sponsors, and venue hosts. Our goal is to act as a catalyst, fusing the vital parts of Toronto's tech scene so that a rising tide raises all ships.
Who is this for?
This event is exclusively for individuals actively involved in building the tech community. You are eligible to attend if you:
Run a recurring community meetup in the Toronto tech space. Are an active sponsor of local tech meetups.Represent a venue available for community events. Are directly involved in community building through other means (e.g., organizing hackathons, conferences, or other one-off events).
Format: The Community Roundtable
The structure is simple and focused on peer support.
Submit a Topic: When you register, you'll have the chance to submit a discussion topic or a challenge you're facing.Draw from a Hat: We'll randomly draw submitted topics for a group discussion, allowing us to tackle the real-world issues facing our community right now.Share & Solve: Each topic gets a dedicated time slot for everyone to offer advice, share experiences, and collaborate on solutions. We aim to cover 2-4 topics per event.
The first two hours are for the structured roundtable, followed by an hour of informal networking for anyone who wants to continue the conversation.
Rules of Engagement:
Only registered community organizers may submit topics for the hat. If you are not present at the event when your topic is drawn, it will not be discussed.Anyone (including sponsors, venues, etc.) can jump the queue by buying a round of drinks for the group. This puts your topic up next for discussion.
Venue Test Drive:
Each month, we will host this meetup at a different venue that is available for community events, giving you a chance to "test drive" potential locations for your own meetups. Our first event will be held at Industious Coworking Space.
The Vision:
Imagine a Toronto where organizers share a pool of volunteers, sponsors can easily support multiple communities, and cross-promotion is the default. A city where new meetups don't have to build momentum from a vacuum; they launch into an ecosystem with its own gravity that ensures they not only survive but thrive.
By colliding communities through the Roundtable, we create a network where joining any one group means tapping into the energy of a much larger, city-wide system. This is the groundwork for a Toronto tech scene that can grow in ways it never could with us all working in isolation.
