National Geo-AI Hackathon by Techfest, IIT Bombay:
This is a great opportunity presented by Techfest, IIT Bombay, Asia's Largest Science & Technology Festival. The goal of this hackathon is to challenge participants to use cutting-edge Geospatial Technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) to improve rural planning and development across India. The entire focus is on automating crucial tasks related to digital mapping and designing resilient infrastructure for villages.
You and your team (1-4 members) can pick one of two themes:
Theme 1: Feature Extraction from Drone Images You need to develop a highly precise AI/ML model to automatically identify key features like building footprints, different types of rooftops, roads, waterbodies, and infrastructure from high-resolution drone images. The target accuracy is 95%.
Theme 2: DTM Creation and Drainage Network Here, you'll use AI/ML on drone point cloud datasets to create a Digital Terrain Model (DTM). The ultimate goal is to design an optimized, resilient drainage network to combat common flooding and waterlogging issues in rural areas.
Key Dates to Remember:
Round 1 Submissions Deadline is December 12, 2025.
Final Presentation (for shortlisted teams) is scheduled for December 23, 2025, at IIT Bombay.
Mandatory registration is FREE and must be completed on techfest.org/competitions.
