Theme: Accelerating MSE Compliance - Automating BIS Standard DiscoveryAbout The Challenge:
Indian Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) often spend weeks identifying which Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) regulations apply to their products
This hackathon challenges participants to build an AI-powered Recommendation Engine that dramatically simplifies this process
Participants will design and develop a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system capable of converting product descriptions into relevant BIS standard recommendations within seconds
The solution should analyse product inputs and return the top 3–5 applicable standards along with a brief rationale, helping businesses quickly navigate regulatory compliance
Focus Area:
The challenge focuses specifically on Building Materials, including categories such as cement, steel, concrete, and aggregates
Teams will work with official BIS documentation and create an end-to-end pipeline that ingests the standards dataset, performs retrieval, and generates accurate recommendations
Rulebook:
