All that you need to know about Nakshatra Hackathon
Overview
Nakshatra is a 24-hour innovation-driven hackathon organized by A. P. Shah Institute of Technology, Mumbai, aimed at bringing together students to solve real-world challenges in FinTech and Healthcare.
The hackathon focuses on building scalable and impactful solutions that address practical problems in these rapidly evolving domains. Participants will collaborate in teams to design innovative ideas and transform them into working prototypes.
Hackathon Format
The hackathon consists of two rounds:
Round 1: Idea Submission (Online)
Teams are required to submit a presentation (PPT) along with a short explanatory video (2–3 minutes) based on their selected problem statement.
The submission should clearly outline the problem, proposed solution, approach, and expected impact. Teams will be evaluated on innovation, feasibility, clarity, and relevance to the domain. Shortlisted teams will advance to the final round.

Shortlisted teams will participate in a 24-hour hackathon where they will build and present a working prototype. Teams will receive mentorship and will be evaluated by industry experts based on implementation, innovation, and real-world applicability.
Problem Statements
Participants must select one problem statement from the following domains:
FinTech
FT-01: CampusChain : Blockchain-Powered University Financial Ecosystem
Problem StatementDesign a blockchain-based financial ecosystem tailored for educational institutions, enabling seamless and secure digital transactions within a campus environment.
The system should support:
A campus-specific digital currency or token system
Secure transactions for fees, events, services, and peer-to-peer payments
Smart contract-based automation for payments
Administrative controls for managing users, permissions, and transaction policies
FT-02: BioVault : Biometric-Secured Decentralized Wallet System
Problem StatementDevelop a decentralized digital wallet system that replaces traditional private key management with biometric authentication mechanisms, such as fingerprint recognition, for secure access and transaction authorization.
The system should:
Enable secure blockchain transactions using biometric verification
Eliminate reliance on traditional private keys while maintaining decentralization
Ensure privacy-preserving handling of biometric data
Provide fallback mechanisms for secure access recovery
Healthcare (HealthTech)
HC-01: RecoverAI :Intelligent Post-Discharge Care Companion
Problem StatementDesign a digital companion that supports patients during their post-hospital recovery phase through personalized recovery plans, symptom monitoring, and timely alerts.
The system should enable caregiver access and remote monitoring by healthcare professionals, and may include voice assistance and engagement mechanisms to improve adherence to recovery plans.
HC-02: Cogniscan : AI-Based Early Cognitive Decline Detection System
Problem StatementDevelop an AI-powered system for early detection of cognitive decline using multimodal inputs such as speech patterns, facial expressions, and cognitive tasks.
The system should function effectively in low-resource environments, provide alerts to caregivers, and support early intervention through appropriate recommendations.
