Shaastra is the annual technical fest of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. It provides a platform for promising technocrats of tomorrow to enhance their knowledge, interact with pioneers, exhibit their innovations, and gain inspiration. Proud to be the largest-run student festival in India, Shaastra sees a footfall of 50,000+ students, professionals, and industry leaders from all over the country. Shaastra has also received UNESCO patronage. About the Event: The Summit is the flagship event of Shaastra. Each year, we venture into a unique and relevant theme to contribute to the developments in these fields of technology and to create an impact on society. This year's Summit is delving into the intriguing realm of Digital Governance. As technology continues to transform the way societies operate, it is essential to ensure that governance keeps pace with these rapid advancements. Through the Digital Governance Summit at Shaastra 2026, our mission is to engage and enlighten our audience on the evolving intersection of technology and policy, exploring key themes such as digital public infrastructure, data-driven policymaking, and GovTech startups. The summit aims to foster collaboration and understanding between policymakers, industry experts, researchers, startups, investors, and passionate individuals. We are proud to announce, in partnership with India Post, our flagship competition - Digital Address DPI Innovation Hackathon. Eligibility: Any students of science, and problem solvers enthusiastic about Policy and Technology are eligible to participate. No professional qualifications are necessary. Team Composition: Team registrations are allowed with a minimum of 1 & maximum size of 3 participants. Round 1: Registrations open on 8th November 2025 and close by 05:00 pm on 30th November 2025. The problem statement releases by 8th November 2025. Submissions for Round 1 close at 05:00 pm on 30th November 2025. Round 2: Offline rounds will be held in IIT Madras, for qualified teams in front of a Panel of judges from India Post on 03rd January 2026. Top 6 Teams / Participants qualifying from Round 1 will present On Campus Rewards & Prizes: The winners will be awarded the following cash prizes and a participation certificate to all participants who make a submission. First Prize: INR 60,000 Second Prize: INR 40,000 Third Prize: INR 20,000
