Hackathon: Cognithin-AI Hackathon
Cognithon-AI hackathon, the flagship AI hackathon of Enyugma, the Techno-Cultural Fest of IIIT Bhagalpur, is a celebration of creativity, innovation, and technology.
This year’s edition brings together brilliant minds to develop impactful AI-driven solutions, explore transformative ideas, and enhance skills through collaboration and real-world problem solving.
Event Structure:
Teams will develop a prototype based on their ideas. This will be conducted at IIIT Bhagalpur.
Schedule: (Tentative: February 19-22).
Venue: IIIT Bhagalpur (Computer Lab 3rd floor)
Hackathon Details:
Proposed Themes: Healthcare, Education, Defence, Social Good / Civic Tech, Climate & Agriculture and Smart Cities & Infrastructure. Themes must be implemented through the usage of required Tracks.
NOTE: Team can have their own problem statement from above mentioned themes only.
Eligibility Criteria:
Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students across India.
Teams must consist of 3 to 4 members.
Inter-college and interdisciplinary teams are allowed and encouraged.
Students from any specialization or background may participate.
Rules and Regulations:
All team members should be present at the event. Only official team members can contribute to the project code. Participants must also bring their college ID cards and Aadhaar cards for verification.
All resources used must be open-source.
No development may start before the actual date and time of the event.
The organizers and sponsors hold no liability for any damages, losses, or injuries during the event. Participants are responsible for their own safety, equipment, and actions.
The institute name must not appear anywhere in the presentation, including slides, diagrams, team introductions, or verbal remarks.
Participants must adhere to ethical standards and the rules set by the organizers. Any form of cheating, plagiarism, or unfair practices will result in immediate disqualification.
Teams must submit their code and project documentation before the specified deadline. Late submissions may result in penalties or disqualification.
Organizers may conduct code validation to ensure that the project was developed within the given time frame and complies with the rules.
Participants should adhere to a code of conduct that promotes inclusivity, respect, and professionalism. Any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
In case of disputes or concerns, the decision of the organizers and judging panel will be final. Any disagreements should be resolved through the arbitration process outlined by the organizers.
All code developed during the Hackathon should be the original work of the team. Participants cannot use code or assets created by someone else without proper permissions or licenses.
AI tools may be used for debugging, error removal, and optimization support. However, the core logic, structure, and implementation of the code must be original and follow the project’s defined standards.
Organizers reserve the right to make changes to the Hackathon rules, format, or prizes at any time. Any modifications will be communicated to participants in a clear and timely manner.
Judging Criteria – College Hackathon 2025:
The hackathon will be conducted in two rounds — Online Round and Final Presentation Round.
Round 1: Online Submission:
All registered teams must submit a presentation and a demo video explaining their project idea. Based on evaluation, the top 15 teams will qualify for the next round. Projects will be judged on:
Clarity of Problem & Solution: How clearly the problem is identified and how effectively the solution addresses it.
Innovation & Originality: Creativity and uniqueness of the idea or approach.
Technical Feasibility: Practicality and quality of the proposed or working prototype.
Impact & Use-case: Relevance, usefulness, and potential benefits of the solution.
Presentation Quality: Clarity, structure, and communication in the slides and demo video.
Round 2: On-site 24-Hour Development and Presentation
The shortlisted 15 teams will participate in a 24-hour on-site hackathon at Innov-AI-thon, organized by the Artificial Intelligence Club, IIIT Bhagalpur.
During this round, teams will transform their ideas into working prototypes, showcasing their technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving capabilities.
Judges and mentors will conduct regular reviews, including a mid-evaluation, to track progress and guide participants. The round emphasizes not just innovation and impact, but also the depth of AI understanding and implementation in each solution.
Based on the final presentations, the Winner and Runner up will be selected.
All teams will be judged using the same rubric to ensure fairness and transparency.
