Code 4 BEST is a 24-hour offline hackathon organized by BEST Košice for students of TUKE. This is not just another coding event. For 24 intense hours, participants design, build, and ship a working product under pressure. We focus on pushing the limits of React Native through space-themed games. You won’t build slides. You will explore the unknown and build the unimaginable. What Makes It Different? - 24 hours of uninterrupted building - Technical focus on advanced React Native capabilities - Real-time collaboration - Live checkpoints and mentor feedback - Final demo in front of judges. We encourage experimentation - animations, sensors, performance optimization, multiplayer logic, AI-powered mechanics, or native integrations. Go beyond the basics. This year’s main challenge: Beyond the Basics: Space Game in React Native. Create a space-themed game that explores advanced or unconventional features of React Native. Your game must: - Be playable. - Include clear gameplay mechanics - Demonstrate technical depth. Judging will focus on: - Gameplay & Mechanics - Technical Innovation - Code Quality - Creativity & Design - Completeness & Polish. Full details will be revealed during the opening ceremony. FAQs What should I bring? - Your laptop + charger - Extension cord (highly recommended) - Student ID - Comfortable clothes - Basic hygiene items (c'mon, it’s 24 hours) - Energy drinks optional, stamina required. Optional but helpful: - Headphones - Hoodie or light blanket - Power bank. Who can participate? Students of TUKE (all faculties welcome). You can register individually or as a team. Are there prizes? Yes. Top teams will receive financial rewards and sponsor prizes. But more importantly - experience, visibility, and serious bragging rights.
