Journal Club with Professor Hao Li: Transcription Factor Rejuvenation and Partial Reprogramming
Join us on the Biopunk floor at Frontier Tower for a journal club on cellular rejuvenation, partial reprogramming, and aging biology featuring Professor Hao Li as our guest. Professor Li is a Professor of Biochemistry and Biophysics at UCSF.Lab website: http://mobydick.ucsf.edu/
The session will focus on two papers:
Systematic identification of single transcription factor perturbations that drive cellular and tissue rejuvenationDOI: https://doi.org/10.1073/pnas.2515183123In Vivo Amelioration of Age-Associated Hallmarks by Partial ReprogrammingDOI: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cell.2016.11.052
Professor Hao Li will open with a short introduction to the Belmonte lab partial reprogramming paper, then present the lab’s recent PNAS paper. We will then open the floor for discussion on the biology behind rejuvenation, partial reprogramming, and the broader implications for aging interventions.
Schedule
6:30 PM — Welcome and short introduction from Professor Hao Li on the Belmonte lab partial reprogramming paper6:40 PM — Presentation on the PNAS paper7:15 PM — Group discussion8:15 PM — Open Q&A and closing conversation8:30 PM — EndSnacks and dinner provided: Garlic pepper chicken wings, chopped Mediterranean salad, Hawaiin dinner rolls, snacks, drinks, and dessert options.
We also welcome Biopunk House residents and Human Enhancement Hackathon participants who will be in the tower that week. This session should be especially relevant for researchers, builders, and technically curious attendees interested in aging biology, reprogramming, and translational human enhancement.
This event is hosted at the Frontier Tower:
We are transforming a 16-floor tower in San Francisco into a self-governed vertical village—a hub for frontier technologies and creative arts. Tier-one labs presenting AI, Ethereum, biotech, neuroscience, longevity, robotics, makerspace, human flourishing, and arts & music. These floors will house innovators and creators pushing the boundaries of human potential in a post-AI-singularity world.
