The Tryst Mathematical Modelling Challenge (TMMC) is a premier competition designed to push the boundaries of analytical thinking. Participants will dive deep into optimization, probability, and linear algebra to decode and model complex real-world systems. If you can bridge the gap between abstract theory and practical application, this is your arena.
Round 1: The Preliminary Qualifier (Online):
Platform: Hosted on Unstop.
Focus: A rigorous problem set testing fundamentals in Probability, Statistics, Discrete Mathematics, and Optimization.
Objective: To identify the sharpest mathematical minds capable of handling complex modelling.
Advancement: The Top 20–25 teams will secure their spot for the final showdown at IIT Delhi.
Round 2: The Grand Challenge (On-Campus):
Duration: A grueling 48-hour Mathematical Modelling hackathon held during Day 1 and Day 2 of Tryst.
The Task: Teams will receive a complex real-world problem statement requiring a comprehensive mathematical solution and simulation.
The Finale: An on-campus presentation session where teams defend their models, methodology, and results before a panel of experts.
Details: Specific problem statements and evaluation rubrics will be released at the commencement of the round.
Eligibility & Team Composition:
Team Size: Teams must consist of 1 to 3 members.
Affiliation: All members of a team must be from the same institution.
Open To: Undergraduate and postgraduate students with a passion for mathematics and problem-solving.
Rewards & Recognition:
The stakes are high, with a total prize pool of: ₹70,000
Plus certificates of excellence for all national finalists.
