MIRO MEMORABLE HACKATHON 2026Theme: “Design Solutions That Matter”
The Miro Memorable Hackathon is a one-day innovation and design sprint organized for 30 students of Mount Kigali University. The event challenges participants to collaborate in teams and develop practical solutions to real-world problems using Miro as their primary collaboration and project development platform.
Unlike a traditional workshop, this hackathon is a competitive, challenge-based event where participants move from idea generation to solution design and final pitching within a limited timeframe.
Participants will work in teams of 4–5 members and choose one of the following challenge tracks:
• Education & Student Life• Community Impact & Social Innovation• Entrepreneurship & Digital Business• Smart Campus & Technology Solutions• Sustainability & Environmental Innovation
Hackathon Structure
Phase 1 — Opening & Miro TrainingParticipants will receive a practical onboarding session covering:• Brainstorming systems• Mind mapping• Workflow planning• User journey mapping• Team collaboration boards• Pitch presentation design using Miro
Phase 2 — Challenge Release & Team FormationTeams will receive official problem statements connected to real student and community challenges. Participants must identify a target problem and propose a realistic, innovative solution.
Phase 3 — Innovation SprintTeams will spend the main hackathon session:• Researching the problem• Mapping ideas visually on Miro• Designing workflows and solution models• Creating implementation plans• Building a presentation-ready prototype or concept board
Mentors and facilitators will support teams throughout the sprint with guidance on innovation, teamwork, presentation strategy, and problem-solving.
Phase 4 — Final Pitch PresentationsEach team will deliver:• A 5-minute solution pitch• A live walkthrough of their Miro workspace• A demonstration of their proposed solution
Judging Criteria
Projects will be evaluated based on:• Innovation & Creativity — 25%• Problem-Solution Fit — 25%• Effective Use of Miro Tools — 20%• Feasibility & Impact — 15%• Team Collaboration & Presentation — 15%
Expected Deliverables
By the end of the hackathon, each team must submit:• A completed Miro project board• A problem statement summary• A solution workflow or prototype• A short implementation strategy• A final presentation pitch

Winning teams will receive awards for:• Best Innovation• Best Team Collaboration• Best Presentation• Most Impactful Solution
