👋 Hello UTM Builders!
Welcome to Polkadot Hub Codecamp @ Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, a 2-day hands-on developer experience designed specifically for UTM students who want to build real blockchain applications, not just learn theory.
You’ll go from zero → deploying your first smart contract → building a simple demo app on Polkadot. No prior Polkadot experience required, just curiosity and willingness to build!
🏆 Hands-on Build Challenges & Rewards (RM 2,000+)
This Code Camp includes hands-on build challenges across both days.
Participants will work through guided technical challenges where you’ll deploy smart contracts, connect components, and build a working Polkadot app. Students who actively participate and complete the challenges will be eligible to win rewards from a total prize pool of USD $500 (approximately RM 2,000).
To be eligible for rewards, attendance on both Day 1 and Day 2 is required, as the challenges build progressively.
⚠️ Important: This is a progressive 2-day program. Day 2 builds directly on Day 1, so attendance on both days is strongly encouraged.
What Is This Codecamp?
This Codecamp is a structured, hands-on training that prepares students for real-world Web3 development and upcoming hackathons.
You won’t just watch demos, you’ll set up your environment, write code, deploy contracts, and build with guidance from mentors.
Over the 2 days, you’ll learn:
Smart contracts basics & how apps work on PolkadotWriting & deploying EVM smart contractsDeveloper tooling: DevContainer, Foundry / Hardhat, Scaffold DOTHow to build and connect your first Polkadot appIntro to cross-chain concepts (XCM)How students can continue via hackathons, grants, and ecosystem teams
