Focus: Amalgamation of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Construction Contract Management
Platform: Unstop platform (No registration fee required)
Goal: Develop a Natural Language Processing (NLP)-based tool to extract information in a prescribed format from the Contract Specification document.
Rules:
Three rounds: MCQ-based online quiz (Round 1), text extraction from construction specification document (Round 2), final presentation, and live physical demonstration through presentation at NICMAR University, Pune (Round 3).
Round 1: MCQ-based online quiz for initial shortlisting.
Round 2: Text extraction from construction specification document: Extract custom information and provide summaries in a prescribed format from a contract specification document (online submission).
Round 3: Final presentation and live physical demonstration at NICMAR University, Pune, during ICCRIP 2026.
Important Dates:

Round 1: Online Quiz - 30th Mar 2026
Round 2: 6th Apr 2026 to 4th May 2026
Final shortlist announcement: 22nd Jun 2026
Round 3: 21st and 22nd Aug 2026 (at NICMAR University, Pune).
Team Formation:
Team Size: Maximum of 4 participants.
Participants: Undergraduate, post-graduate, or doctoral students from any engineering/management discipline.
Suggested Background: At least one participant with a background in construction management and another in data science (NLP, Text Analytics, etc.).
Prizes:
The top two presentations, presenting offline (Round 3) at NICMAR University, will receive attractive prizes.
The participation certificate will only be given to those who will be eligible and appear for Round 3 of the Hackathon event (no participation certificate for completing/attending Round 1 and/or Round 2), and all final presenters at ICCRIP 2026 will receive participation certificates at the closing ceremony of ICCRIP 2026 at NICMAR University, Pune.
