Event Name:
The Drop – Futuristic Product Pitch (TRIVERSE 3.0)
Event Description:
The Drop is the third and final event of TRIVERSE 3.0.
It is a creativity-driven competition where teams invent fictional products set in the year 2050.
The focus is on imagination, storytelling, and persuasive pitching — participants must convincingly sell an idea that does not exist.
The event rewards originality, narrative strength, and the ability to make audiences believe in a futuristic concept.
Team Objective:
Design a completely fictional product from the year 2050.
Define its purpose, target audience, and use case.
Present it in a way that feels believable, innovative, and compelling.
Competition Structure:
Phase 1: Ideation Sprint
Duration: 1 hour
Venue: Workshop Area
Teams are given a single constraint: the product must belong to the year 2050.
There are no restrictions on domain, category, or theme.
Teams must define:
Product name
One-line pitch
Problem it solves
Target user
Example ideas may include:
A dream-recording device that converts sleep into videos
A compatibility app designed for robots
A helmet that translates thoughts into music playlists
Phase 2: Poster And Pitch Preparation
Duration: 1 hour
Venue: Workshop Area
Teams will create a product concept poster (digital or printed).
The poster should include:
Brand name
Tagline
Visual representation or mockup of the product
Teams must also prepare a 3-minute live pitch covering:
What the product is
The problem it solves
Target audience
Why the product matters
Practice and rehearsal are encouraged to refine delivery.
Phase 3: Live Pitches On Stage
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Venue: Main Stage
Pitch Format:
Each team gets:
3 minutes to present
2 minutes for Q&A with judges
The product poster will be displayed during the pitch.
All team members are allowed to participate in the presentation.
Judging:
Evaluated by a panel of 2–3 judges.
Audience voting will determine a separate “Crowd Favourite” award.
Judging Criteria:
Originality:
Creativity and uniqueness of the concept
Whether the idea feels truly innovative and futuristic
Pitch Conviction:
Confidence and engagement during presentation
Ability to make the audience believe in the idea
Concept Coherence:
Logical consistency of the product
Alignment between the pitch and the poster
Final Note:
The Drop challenges participants to think beyond reality and sell imagination as innovation.
The ultimate goal is not just to invent — but to convincingly present the impossible.a
