Hushh is hosting an online open-source contribution and hiring challenge for builders, developers, and contributors who want to work on real codebases and convert strong contributions into real career opportunities.
This is not a hackathon. This is an open contribution window. From 12 April 2026 to 26 April 2026, participants can explore the repositories, understand the products, identify bugs, improve documentation, add meaningful features, optimize performance, and submit quality pull requests.

This track is ideal for contributors interested in frontend experience, APIs, repo hygiene, testing, performance, documentation, and developer-facing improvements.

This track is ideal for contributors who want to understand a deeper AI-first product flow, study the architecture, explore the codebase in detail, identify real issues or gaps, and contribute meaningful improvements.
What Participants Have To Do
Choose one project track and contribute meaningfully.
Participants are expected to:- go through the codebase in detail- read all available documentation in the repository- understand the product, architecture, and key features- identify real bugs, inefficiencies, missing tests, documentation gaps, UX gaps, performance bottlenecks, or useful feature opportunities- work on a meaningful fix or improvement- raise a clean pull request following repository contribution protocols- submit the PR link along with a short explanation of what was solved, why it matters, what was changed, and how it was tested or validated
How To Make Your Submission
Step 1Register for the opportunity on the platform.
Step 2Choose one track: hushhTech or Kai.
Step 3Read the repository documentation carefully before starting. Go through the README, contribution rules, and other public documentation.
Step 4Explore the repository and identify your contribution. You can:- pick an existing issue- find a new bug- suggest and implement a useful feature- improve documentation- improve tests- improve developer experience- optimize performance
Step 5Create your working branch properly and make your contribution. Do not push directly to the main branch.
Step 6Test or validate your changes. Make sure your pull request is meaningful, clear, and reviewable.
Step 7Raise a pull request in the correct repository before the deadline.
Step 8Submit your final entry on the platform with all of the following:- your GitHub profile link- chosen project track- repository name- issue link or a clear problem statement- pull request link- short write-up covering: what you found why it matters what you changed how you tested or validated it
Important clarity for submission:Only submissions with a proper pull request link will be considered.Your pull request must be raised on or before 26 April 2026.Quality matters more than quantity. One strong pull request is better than multiple weak submissions.If you raise more than one pull request, evaluation will focus on overall impact, quality, and relevance.Low-effort, cosmetic-only, copied, spammy, or irrelevant submissions may be rejected.

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for developers who can understand a real codebase before coding, think from both product and engineering perspectives, identify meaningful problems worth solving, write clean and maintainable code, communicate clearly through pull requests, and show strong ownership.
Rules and Contribution Guidelines
- Read the README and contributor documentation before starting- Follow the contribution protocols of the selected repository- Do not push directly to the main branch- Create a proper topic branch- Keep your pull request focused, meaningful, and easy to review- Clearly explain what changed, why it changed, and how it was validated- Do not commit secrets, tokens, API keys, certificates, credentials, or .env files- Do not report security vulnerabilities publicly through open issues- Respect the project’s Code of Conduct, Security Policy, and support workflow- AI-assisted coding is allowed, but participants must fully understand and justify their submitted work- Low-effort, copied, spammy, irrelevant, or cosmetic-only submissions may be rejected

Submissions will be evaluated on:- relevance and quality of the contribution- understanding of product and codebase- technical depth- code quality and maintainability- pull request clarity and professionalism- testing and validation- security awareness- product thinking- ownership and execution quality

Internship Hiring Opportunities
Stipend: Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 per monthSelected candidates in Pune may receive fully furnished accommodation support.Candidates outside Pune may join remotely from their own city.Selected interns may receive access to a Mac, Apple developer account, Prime membership, and other role-based developer resources.
Full-Time Hiring Opportunities
Salary: Rs 80,000 to Rs 1,00,000 per monthHushh plans to hire top full-time contributors, especially in Pune.Selected Pune-based full-time hires may receive fully furnished flat or accommodation support.Room, rent, food, and essential living support may be covered by Hushh for selected full-time roles.Selected full-time hires may receive Apple ecosystem work resources such as MacBook, iPhone access, Apple developer account support, and related tools as per role requirements.
