Game of Codes is a Monopoly-inspired gamified coding event designed to test participants’ coding, debugging, strategy, and teamwork skills through an interactive monopoly-based challenge.
Registration:
Participants must register individually through the Yugam portal:https://yugam.in/e/game-of-codes
Teams (3 members) can be formed after completing individual registration.
After individual members complete their registration, they can form the team.(Check yugam portal for further information)
Eligibility:
Open to all college students.
Inter-college teams are allowed.
Participants must have basic programming knowledge in any language.
Participants must register in teams of exactly 3 members.
Each participant can be part of only one team.
Team Formation:
Participants must register in teams of 3 members.
Each team will assign roles:
Strategist – Game decisions and moves
Trader – Negotiations and hint purchases
Banker – Points and transactions management
The event consists of two stages:
Stage 1 – Board Gameplay Round:
Teams roll dice and move across a Monopoly-style coding board.
Based on the tile landed, teams will face:
Coding challenges (Easy / Medium / Hard)
Debugging tasks
Buyable property tiles
Rent payment tiles
Bonus and penalty tiles
Jail escape challenges
Teams earn, lose, trade, and manage points throughout the game.
Stage 2 – Final Round:
Top teams from Stage 1 qualify.
Teams compete in a rapid coding/debugging showdown.
Winners are decided based on speed, accuracy, and strategy and points acquired.
Rules & Regulations:
Each team must strictly follow assigned roles.
No internet usage or external help allowed during gameplay.
Programming language is participant’s choice.
Team coordinators decision will be final.
Any form of malpractice leads to immediate disqualification.
Teams must follow time limits strictly.
In case of tie, a tie-breaker coding challenge will be conducted.
