Sparkplug - Summer Internship 2026 is a unique online coding challenge for students aspiring to intern with Walmart Global Tech India in May-June 2026. Designed for passionate coders, this challenge offers a chance to work alongside some of the best engineering minds in Bangalore and Chennai.Top 150 performers will be selected for internship opportunities across development teams, with a monthly stipend of ₹1-1.1 lakh along with several other perks, including free meals at the office, transportation support, and access to all our building facilities, including gaming zones. This program is your gateway to join Walmart’s global tech ecosystem—powered by 15,000+ engineers, data scientists, and service professionals—driving innovation for 2.3 million associates and millions of customers worldwide. As a Software Engineering Intern, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that builds scalable software solutions with AI/ML integrations. You’ll contribute to real-world projects, learn from experienced engineers, and gain exposure to Walmart’s technology ecosystem. Interns are expected to demonstrate curiosity, ownership, and a strong learning mindset while embodying Walmart’s culture and values. Eligibility Criteria: Walmart Sparkplug 2026 is open exclusively to students from a select list of 24 engineering colleges in India who are pursuing degrees in Computer Science (CS), Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML), and Data Science (No other related or interdisciplinary branches will be considered). Eligible degree programs and batches: BE / B.Tech. full-time programs – Graduating Batch of 2027 (students currently in their 3rd year), Dual Degree full-time programs – Graduating Batch of 2027 (students currently in their 4th year), ME / M.Tech. full-time programs – Graduating Batch of 2027 (students currently in their 1st year). Additional requirements: A minimum CGPA of 7.0 or above is mandatory to apply. No backlogs across any semesters. Participation using multiple IDs or credentials is strictly prohibited and will lead to disqualification. Important Note: Any candidate found engaging in unfair practices—such as registering with fake IDs, non-existent degrees, incorrect graduation details, or misrepresenting their background to contact Walmart associates or leaders—will be disqualified from the Sparkplug challenge. This includes making baseless allegations or exercising unauthorized outreach. Competition Structure: Candidates will be tested across a broad spectrum of domains, spanning Maths, Programming Ability, Data Structures, Algorithms, OOPS and SOLID Design Principles, Operating Systems, Networking, Coding, and emerging concepts like Generative AI. In the Coding Challenge, students will get 90 minutes to present logical coding solutions to 2 problem statements in the language of their choice. The cumulative score of the MCQ and Coding Challenge will be ascertained and considered for shortlisting the final students. What's in it for you?
