About the Event
Galgotias Programming League (GPL) 1.0 is a high-intensity competitive programming tournament organized by LOOP – The Technical Club of GCET.
The event is designed to test participants’ problem-solving ability, coding speed, and algorithmic thinking under pressure through structured elimination rounds.
Event Format
Round Structure
The competition will follow a multi-round knockout format
In each round, approximately 50% of participants will advance to the next stage
Participants will compete by solving a set of problems within a fixed time
Remaining participants will be eliminated after each round
Problem Structure
Each round will include 3 problems based on:
Data Structures & Algorithms
Logical reasoning
Implementation
Duration
Each round: 45 minutes
Total event duration: Approx. 10–12 hours (including breaks & transitions)

Online judge system with automated evaluation
Submissions will be judged on:
Correctness
Execution time
Efficiency
Eligibility & Rules
Open to all undergraduate students
Individual participation only (no teams allowed)
Participants must bring their own laptops
Guidelines
Participants must report on time for their assigned rounds
Late arrivals may lead to disqualification
Internet access will be restricted to the competition platform only
Use of unfair means or external help is strictly prohibited
Decisions by organizers and judges will be final and binding

Tie-breaking Rules
Faster submission time wins
If still tied, a tie-breaker question will be provided
Rules & Code of Conduct
Any form of plagiarism or code sharing will result in immediate disqualification
Participants must not switch systems or accounts during the contest
Use of AI tools, online forums, or external resources is strictly prohibited
Misconduct or disruptive behavior will lead to removal from the event
Advancement & Winning
Participants advance through progressive elimination rounds
The top performers move forward after each round (top 50%)
Finalists compete in a high-stakes final round
The last remaining participant will be crowned the GPL Champion
