Debug Duel – Rules And Regulations:
Debug Duel is a technical event designed to challenge participants in debugging, logical reasoning, and programming problem-solving.
The competition consists of two rounds that evaluate analytical thinking and coding skills.
General Rule:
Participants must complete registration before the specified deadline. On-spot registration may be allowed only if slots are available.
All participants must carry a valid college ID card for verification.
Participants are expected to maintain discipline and professional conduct throughout the event.
Any form of malpractice, impersonation, plagiarism, or unfair means will lead to immediate disqualification.
The use of mobile phones or electronic devices during the event is strictly prohibited unless permitted by the organizers.
Round 1 – Logical & Visual Challenge:
This round evaluates participants’ logical reasoning and understanding of programming concepts through a set of quiz-based questions.
Includes:
Code snippets
Output prediction
Image-based puzzles
Logical riddles
Rules:
Participation can be individual or in teams of two.
Duration: 30 minutes.
The round will consist of multiple questions with no negative marking.
Participants with the highest scores will qualify for the next round.
Round 2 – Debugging Challenge:
This round focuses on identifying and correcting errors in programming code.
Includes:
Buggy code snippets provided in C, C++, Java, or Python.
Participants may solve the problems using any programming language supported by the platform.
A set of 3–5 debugging problems of varying difficulty levels.
Rules:
Duration: 60–90 minutes.
Solutions must follow the specified input and output format.
Programs must successfully pass all test cases for evaluation.
Internet browsing or external assistance is strictly prohibited during this round.
Evaluation Criteria:
Participants will be evaluated based on:
Correctness of solutions
Number of test cases passed
Overall completion time in case of a tie

This event will be conducted as part of the symposium at VELS Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies. Participants will attend the event physically at the venue, while the competition rounds will be conducted online through the Unstop platform.
