Codeathon 3.0:
Codeathon 3.0 is a team-based competitive coding event that tests participants’ problem-solving ability, logical thinking and coding fundamentals in a fast-paced environment. The event emphasizes strategy, collaboration and efficient thinking, not just writing correct code.
This is the 5th edition of Codeathon, conducted as part of Yugam – Surge. Codeathon 3.0 follows a paired programming format, encouraging teamwork, communication and industry-style collaborative problem solving, giving participants a realistic and engaging coding experience.
Registration:
Participants must register through the Yugam portal.
Teams must be formed before the event.
Eligibility:
Open to all college students.
Inter-college teams are allowed.
Participants must have basic programming knowledge.
Each team must consist of exactly 2 members.
A participant can be part of only one team.
Team Format:
Team size: 2 members
Both members will work together on one shared system.
Paired programming is followed throughout the event.
Event Structure:
The event consists of three rounds:
Round 1 – Screening Round
Open to all registered teams.
Consists of:
MCQs on core programming concepts
Basic to moderate coding questions
Conducted on an online platform.
Auto-evaluated.
Top-performing teams qualify for the next round.
Round 2 – Auction Round
Only shortlisted teams participate.
Teams take part in a code auction.
Coding problems are presented by the organizing team.
Teams strategically bid and are assigned specific problems.
Teams can solve only the problems assigned to them.
Evaluation is based on correctness and execution.
Round 3 – Final Round
Finalist teams compete in this round.
Consists of intermediate to advanced coding problems.
Focuses on execution quality, efficiency, and accuracy.
Final rankings are decided in this round.
Rules & Regulations:
Only one system per team is allowed.
The event is proctored and monitored.
Internet usage and external assistance are strictly prohibited.
Any form of malpractice will lead to immediate disqualification.
Teams must strictly adhere to time limits.
The organizing team’s decision will be final and binding.
