An offline frontend challenge focused on Creative Coding, UI/UX Implementation, and Interactive Design.
About the Opportunity:
Embark on a creative journey at WebXperience, a dynamic interface challenge organized by GDG IIIT Surat. This event is specially designed for 1st and 2nd-year students to strengthen their UI/UX thinking, layout structuring, and frontend implementation skills.
Unlike typical design-only contests, this is a "Design + Real Implementation" challenge. Participants will receive a short product or UI description at the start of the event and must convert it into a dynamic, responsive, and interactive interface within a tight timeframe.
Themes and Technology Stack:
Participants are expected to utilize the following technologies to create immersive web experiences:
Core Stack: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Version Control: GitHub (Add, Commit, Push)
Animation: CSS Animations & Transitions (keyframes, transforms, hover effects)
Advanced Motion: GSAP (GreenSock Animation Platform) for timeline-based animations
Experience: Locomotive.js / Lenis.js for smooth scrolling and enhanced UX
Eligibility and Logistics:
Eligibility: Open exclusively to 1st and 2nd-year students.
Participation: Individual participation only.
Mode: Offline (Lab-Based).
Venue: Computer Lab, IIIT Surat.
Duration: 2 Hours.
Competition Structure:
The challenge consists of a single high-intensity round:
The Build Sprint (2 Hours):
Reveal: The specific UI/Product description is revealed at the very start of the event.
Phase 1 (Design): Participants plan the interface layout and user flow.
Phase 2 (Implementation): Participants build a working dynamic UI screen using code.
Phase 3 (Polish): Adding animations, transitions, and ensuring responsiveness.
Submission: Final code must be pushed to GitHub before the timer ends.
Rewards and Prizes:
Winners will be awarded cash prizes, certificates, and community recognition:
1st Place: ₹3,000 + Certificate
2nd Place: ₹2,000 + Certificate
3rd Place: ₹1,000 + Certificate
Public Recognition: Winning and standout UIs will be featured on GDG IIIT Surat’s official LinkedIn & Instagram handles.
