SRM BUILDS 7.0 is a premier 36-Hour National Hackathon hosted at VERGE 2026. This flagship technical event invites the brightest minds to transition from ideation to execution in an intensive, high-energy environment. Designed to foster ethical innovation and scalable technology, SRM BUILDS 7.0 is a platform for interdisciplinary teams to solve real-world challenges through code, hardware, and creative strategy.

Team Size: 1–4 Members (Inter-college & Inter-specialization teams permitted)
The 36-Hour Sprint: Rules & Regulations
To ensure a professional and fair competitive environment, all participants must adhere to the following governance standards:
Originality First: All project development must happen within the official 36-hour window. Pre-developed or previously deployed solutions are strictly prohibited.
Version Control: Teams must maintain a clear version control history (e.g., GitHub/GitLab) for audit purposes.
Mandatory Presence: At least one team member must be physically present at the allocated workspace at all times.
AI & Open Source: Use of open-source tools is permitted with proper attribution. All AI tools used must be declared during final submission.
Cybersecurity: Unauthorized penetration testing or cyber-attacks on event infrastructure will lead to immediate disqualification.
Judging & Evaluation Criteria
Projects will be evaluated by an independent jury of industry experts based on a weighted framework:
Innovation (20%): Originality and uniqueness of the solution.
Technical Complexity (20%): Quality of code, architecture, and tech stack.
Functionality (20%): The "Working Prototype" status and reliability.
Impact & Scalability (20%): Potential for real-world application and growth.
Presentation & Clarity (20%): Effectiveness of the pitch and documentation.
Code of Conduct & Campus Policy
Zero Tolerance: Discrimination, harassment, or unprofessional behavior will result in immediate removal.
Strict Substance Policy: SRM University is a smoke-free and substance-free campus. Possession or consumption of alcohol, tobacco, or narcotics will lead to immediate disqualification and reporting to authorities.
IP Rights: Intellectual Property rights remain with the participants, though the University reserves rights for academic showcasing.
Logistics & Support
Participants will be provided with:
High-speed internet and dedicated workspaces.
Food, refreshments, and first-aid assistance.
Accommodation: Provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Transport: Bus service from the nearest Metro Station to the campus.
