CUKCS-AITHON 2026 is a 24-hour national-level AI hackathon organized by the Central University of Karnataka in collaboration with the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch , CUK. Serving as a prelude to the AI Impact Summit 2026, CUKCS-AITHON 2026 aims to bring together innovators from across India to create AI-driven solutions addressing real-world challenges in domains like human capital, social inclusion, safety, and sustainability.
The hackathon will consist of two major phases:
Online preliminary round (Abstract submission and screening)
Offline grand finale at CUK. The top teams will qualify for the final 24-hour non-stop coding and building marathon
Objectives:
Promote innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Encourage students to solve real-world problems using AI technology.
Provide hands-on exposure through mentorship and evaluation.
Strengthen the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem at CUK.
Strengthen collaboration between academia, industry and research institutions to promote responsible AI development

Event Structure:
Round 1 – Online Abstract Submission: Teams will submit a Abstract Submission presenting their problem statement, approach, and technology stack.
Screening: Expert panel evaluates and shortlists best teams for the finale.
Round 2 – 24-Hour Offline Finale: Teams develop and present working prototypes.
Evaluation: Three rounds of mentoring and progress evaluations will be held during the hackathon.
Final Presentation & Prize Distribution: Top-performing teams will be awarded after final judging.
Team Rules:
Teams must consist of 2- 4 members.
All members must be current UG or PG students in India.
Students from different engineering colleges may form a team.
Team changing or shuffling will not be encouraged after registration
