Open Source Quest (OSQ) 2026 is a month-long, mentor-guided open-source contribution program organized by R3ACTR Innovations. Unlike traditional hackathons, OSQ focuses on real-world open-source contribution. Participants work on real GitHub repositories, follow professional workflows, and collaborate with mentors and peers to make meaningful improvements. The program emphasizes: Real repositories (not mock projects), Industry-standard GitHub workflows, Quality, consistency, and collaboration, Learning through contribution, not competition. OSQ is beginner-friendly while also offering an advanced path for experienced contributors who want to make impactful improvements. Get started: Register through the official OSQ registration form: https://forms.gle/sh5j4RnHT2HWp8BQ6. Selected participants receive an onboarding email with a unique OSQ Tag. Join the assigned GitHub repository and communication channels. Review the README, issues, and contribution guidelines. Start contributing by creating or working on approved issues. Mentors and volunteers will guide participants throughout the program.
