Impulse is an ICPC-style competitive programming contest built to test the limits of teamwork, strategy, and algorithmic excellence. Designed for teams that thrive under pressure, Impulse brings together some of the finest coders to compete in a battle of logic, coordination, and speed.
Inspired by global collegiate programming contests, Impulse challenges participants with carefully curated problems spanning algorithms, data structures, and mathematical reasoning. It’s not just about solving problems — it’s about how efficiently your team thinks, communicates, and executes under strict contest conditions.
Organised by Scaler School of Technology, Impulse is more than just a contest it’s a true test of collaborative problem-solving at the highest level.
Online Qualifier:
Type: Team contest (2–3 participants per team)
Duration: 3 hours
Format: ICPC-style contest with a shared scoreboard and penalty system
Problem Set: Algorithmic and data structure problems of varying difficulty
Objective: Solve maximum problems in minimum time with fewer penalties
Qualification: Top-performing teams on the leaderboard advance to the Offline Finals
Offline Finals:
Type: Team contest (2–3 participants per team)
Duration: 5 hours
Format: On-site ICPC-style contest with a single shared system per team
Environment: High-pressure, real contest setting simulating global ICPC regionals
Evaluation: Based on number of problems solved and penalty time
Goal: Compete against top teams and demonstrate teamwork, strategy, and efficiency under pressure
Eligibility:
Open to team participation only (2–3 members per team)
Open to students from all colleges across India, as well as competitive programming enthusiasts
Participants from any branch or academic background are welcome
No prior ICPC experience is required, but familiarity with competitive programming is recommended
Teams must compete using a single shared system during offline finals
Rules & Regulations:
Languages Allowed: C, C++, Java, Python
Internet Access: Restricted to the contest platform only; no external resources allowed
Disqualification: Plagiarism, code-sharing, external assistance, or multiple registrations
Late Logins: Not permitted
Fair Play: Strictly monitored to ensure a fair contest environment
Offline Finals: Only one laptop per team is permitted (ICPC-style rules apply)
Registration Process:
Step 1: Click on the “Register Now” button and complete your individual registration.
Step 2: Create your team by adding members using their registered email IDs.
Step 3: All invited members must accept the team invitation to confirm the team formation.
Step 4: After completing the above steps, you will receive a confirmation email.
Step 5: Open the email and follow the instructions provided to access the contest.
Step 6: On the day of the contest, log in and participate through the contest platform.
