DIETCODE VIBE CODING
Presented by William Cruz & MarieCoder
A weekly session where developers and curious creators explore game development through hands-on, constraint-driven coding.Event starts at 4pm. Participants can stay for the full event or chime during the session, this is a causal builders meetup hosted every friday.
Powered by DietCode, an AI-assisted coding environment designed to help builders learn systems by building them in real time.
What This Is
A casual, recurring space for learning software through creation.
Each session focuses on short, game-inspired coding challenges that encourage participants to:
think in systemsbuild interactivelylearn by doingand ship small, working pieces of software
Why Game Development
Game development is used as a learning medium because it naturally:
forces clear system designprovides immediate feedback loopsencourages experimentationturns abstract programming concepts into visible outcomessupports both technical and non-technical contributors
It’s a structured way to learn software through making things that do something immediately.
What Happens Each Friday (2 Hours)
1. Prompt / Challenge (10–15 min)A simple game-inspired build constraint is introduced.
2. Build Time (60–75 min)Participants work individually or in small groups to implement their ideas using DietCode.
3. Share + Play (20–30 min)Builders show what they made, test each other’s work, and exchange feedback.
Who It’s For
New and aspiring developersDesigners curious about interactive systemsBuilders who prefer hands-on learningFounders prototyping ideas quicklyAnyone who learns best by making things
No prior experience required—just curiosity and willingness to build.
Core Idea
Every session is small on purpose.
The goal is not to produce polished products—it’s to build fluency through repetition, where each week compounds understanding of how software systems come together.
Outcome
Participants leave each session with:
something they builta better understanding of how it worksand momentum for the next build
Closing Frame
A lightweight weekly ritual for turning curiosity into creation—one 2-hour build at a time.
