CyberGeek CTF:
Brace yourselves for an immersive journey into the binary realm! CyberGeek CTF is an engaging, online Jeopardy-style capture the flag competition brought to you by Geekhaven, the technical society of IIIT Allahabad. Whether you are a seasoned "terminal freak" or a curious beginner looking to test the waters of ethical hacking, CyberGeek is the perfect arena to showcase your problem-solving skills.
Prepare to dive deep into networks, decipher complex codes, and exploit vulnerabilities over an intense 24-hour period. Compete against some of the brightest minds, learn cutting-edge cyber techniques on the go, and capture the flags to claim your spot on the global leaderboard!
Guidelines:
Eligibility: Open to all current school and college students, as well as working professionals passionate about cybersecurity.
Format: Online Jeopardy-style Capture The Flag (CTF). Participants will be presented with a board of cybersecurity challenges.
Inter-College Team Members: Allowed. You can form cross-institutional alliances to build the ultimate cyber squad.
Challenge Domains: The problem statements will span multiple critical areas of cybersecurity, including:
Cryptography: Decrypt secret messages and break ciphers.
Reverse Engineering: Deconstruct compiled software to understand its logic.
Web Exploitation: Find and exploit vulnerabilities in web applications.
Binary Exploitation (Pwn): Exploit memory corruption bugs and bypass security mitigations.
Forensics: Analyze digital artifacts, memory dumps, and network captures.
OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence): Gather hidden information from publicly available data.
Duration: The hackathon is a single, continuous online round lasting exactly 24 hours.
Rules:
Team Size: Participate as a lone wolf or form a team of up to 3 members.
Flag Format: Every challenge holds a hidden string of text known as a "Flag." Flags will follow a specific format (e.g., Geek{...}) which must be submitted on the platform to earn points.
Fair Play: Sharing flags or solutions with other teams is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban.
Do not attack the CTF infrastructure, host servers, or other participants. Only attack the designated challenge instances.
Automated scanning tools (like DirBuster, SQLMap, or Nmap) are restricted unless specifically allowed by a challenge description, to prevent server overloads.
Decisions: All decisions made by the CyberGeek organizing committee and the platform moderators regarding scoring, disputes, and disqualifications are final and binding.
