Think you can collaborate, code, and contribute like a pro? Time to prove it. Merge Conflict is an individual, contribution-based open-source event where participants work on real-world open-source projects and compete on the leaderboard through meaningful contributions. Your work is evaluated on quality, complexity, and adherence to standard open-source workflows - just like in the real dev world. No quizzes. No luck. Just you, Git, and solid contributions. Contribute. Collaborate. Compete.
How It Works:
Participants contribute to listed open-source projects by solving assigned issues. Each valid contribution earns points based on difficulty, and rankings are determined via a live leaderboard.
Registration & Resources:
To be eligible for prizes, participants must complete registration on both platforms.
Credenz Registration
Add your GitHub username on the Credenz website (mandatory)
Apertre Registration
Sign up on Apertre using the link
️Important: Registration on both Credenz and Apertre is mandatory for participation and prize eligibility.
Event Timeline:
Event Duration: 1st February – 17th February
Final Results: Declared based on leaderboard standings
Mode: Online
Prizes:
1st Prize: ₹5000
2nd Prize: ₹3000
Participation Rules:
Participants may contribute to multiple projects (project link provided).
Issues must be officially assigned by a Mentor or Project Admin before starting work.
Contributions without prior assignment will not be considered.
Only meaningful and non-trivial contributions are allowed.
Starring the repository is mandatory for eligibility.
Plagiarism = immediate disqualification.
All contributions must be original and uniquely crafted.
Contribution Workflow:
Create or request an assignment for an issue.
Start work only after assignment approval.
Create a separate branch for each issue.
Submit pull requests only for assigned issues.
Address mentor feedback promptly and professionally.
Scoring System:
Points are awarded based on issue difficulty:
Hard Issue – 30 Points
Medium Issue – 20 Points
Easy Issue – 10 Points
️ Points may be increased or decreased after mentor review of merged pull requests.
Final Note:
The leaderboard rankings are final, and the organizing team’s decision will be binding. Any unfair practices or attempts to game the system will result in disqualification.
Ready to resolve conflicts the right way? Let the merges begin.
