AURORA 1.0: Impact Made Wider Democratizing Innovation for the "Last Mile" The Challenge The world faces an "Innovation Divide". While urban students lead the AI revolution, millions of brilliant young minds in remote regions—from tribal heartlands to rural villages—are sidelined by a lack of infrastructure and mentorship. AURORA 1.0 is a year-long, global hackathon designed to bridge this chasm. Led by Project GRID, we empower students in Grades 8-12 to transition from passive technology users to active "Young Nation Builders". We have engineered this hackathon for Radical Inclusivity: Low-Bandwidth Optimization: Our portal is built for high performance on low-end devices and 2G/3G connections. Agentic AI Mentorship: A custom multi-lingual AI framework provides 24/7 technical coaching, translating local dialects into global innovation standards. Grassroots Outreach: Through "Aurora Global Days" and a network of 5,000+ Regional Anchor Schools, we provide hardware and internet access to students with zero digital footprint. The Journey Participants follow a structured four-phase path to turn curiosity into scalable social impact: Phase 1: Foundation: Access the Aurora AI Course—a 4-module journey covering Problem Discovery, AI-Assisted Prototyping, and Storytelling. Phase 2: Outreach: Engage with local NGOs and "Aurora Hubs" for immersive hybrid workshops. Phase 3: Hacking & Prototyping: Build solutions for local challenges (aligned with UN SDGs) with real-time feedback from our Agentic AI workforce. Phase 4: Evaluation & Implementation: Projects undergo layered judging (AI screening, peer review, and expert jury). Prizes & Impact Fund We don't just reward code; we fund reality. Global Top 5: High-end technology devices (laptops/tablets) and Elite Incubation Prizes. Global Top 15: 2 months of Anthropic Claude AI Pro to supercharge their computational power. Validation & Build Grants: Direct funding to test prototypes and implement full-scale solutions in local communities. The Universal Reward: Every participating team receives an AI Practitioner Certificate and access to our exclusive AI course. Eligibility & Diversity Participants: Open to students in Grades 8-12 worldwide. Diversity Mandate: We strictly maintain a 33% minimum female participation rate to empower the next generation of women in STEM.
