Who gets to be in the room at hackathons? We're hosting our first event to tackle that question in a genuine and trusted space.
If you've ever skipped a hackathon or showed up and realized you were the only woman in the room … this is for you!
Hackathons have become an entry ramp into tech and entrepreneurship, where talent gets spotted, co-founders get found, and ideas get funded. In Switzerland, women are still underrepresented in every major one — HackZurich, START Hack, innovation challenges, and bootcamps. That filter isn't neutral. It shapes who gets to be in the room.
This is a small, hands-on workshop for women who want to redesign the hackathon format instead of working around it. We'll use Open Space Technology — a format where the agenda is set by the people who show up — to surface what's actually broken and sketch what we'd want instead.
No coding required. Backgrounds welcome from philosophy, law, medicine, nursing, engineering, business, education, social science. The only requirement is that you've thought about this problem and want to do something about it.
Take a friend with you :)
Girls from all backgrounds are welcome (philosophy, social science, law, nursing, medicine, engineering, business, education)
