About the Event:
Panimalar Engineering College, Department of Information Technology, in collaboration with the IEEE Club, proudly presents ZENITHON, a state-level hackathon aimed at bringing together college students from Chennai and across Tamil Nadu to explore, innovate, and create impactful software solutions. This event provides a platform for students to enhance their technical skills, discover their creativity, and gain exposure to real-world problem-solving.
ZENITHON encourages participants to engage in hands-on learning, collaborate with peers, and challenge themselves to think beyond conventional approaches. The hackathon is designed to foster innovation, teamwork, and critical thinking while offering students the opportunity to gain recognition for their skills and efforts.
Event Structure:
The hackathon will be conducted in two main rounds:
Round 1 – Abstract Submission Round (Online)
Teams must submit an abstract of their proposed solution v
Submissions should include:
Problem statement and proposed solution (abstract)
PPT link explaining the idea
Important: A meet to finalize the teams for Round 1 will be conducted on 27th September 2025. The results of Round 1 will be announced on 29th September 2025.
Evaluation Criteria:
Clarity of the problem statement
Creativity and originality of the solution
Practical feasibility
Potential real-world impact
Shortlisted teams based on these parameters will qualify for the final round.
Round 2 – Final Hackathon Round (On-Campus)
Shortlisted teams will be invited to Panimalar Engineering College, IT Department Block, Chennai.
Teams will develop and present a working demo/prototype of their solution to a panel of industry experts and faculty mentors.
Evaluation Focus:
Technical execution and functionality of the demo/prototype
Level of innovation and creativity
Design quality and user experience
Presentation and communication skills
Teamwork and collaboration
Real-world applicability and impact
Team & Participation Details:
Teams can consist of 2 to 4 members.
Participation Fee:
IEEE Members (any one member in team): ₹200 per team
Non-IEEE Teams: ₹300 per team
The hackathon is open to all college students from Chennai and across Tamil Nadu, providing an inclusive platform for both undergraduate and postgraduate participants.
