Event Description:
TYPIX is a two-phase typing competition designed to test speed, accuracy, and consistency.
The event begins with an open participation phase through a pre-fest stall and culminates in high-energy live stage finals.
It combines accessibility with competitive intensity, allowing participants to qualify through performance and compete head-to-head on stage.
Competition Structure:
Phase 1: Open Stall – Pre-Fest Outreach
Duration: 4 days
Participation: Walk-in, open to all
Setup:
A typing stall will be set up in a high-traffic area on campus.
A live leaderboard will be displayed on-screen, visible to all participants and passersby.
Attempt Rules:
Participants can walk in anytime, enter their name and roll number, and attempt the typing test.
Each participant is allowed one attempt per day.
The best score (based on WPM and accuracy) across all attempts will be considered.
Leaderboard And Selection:
Rankings will be updated live throughout the 4 days.
After the stall closes, participants will receive a personalized email with their rank and WPM score.
Top performers will be invited to compete in the finals on Fest Day 1.
Phase 2: Finals – Live Stage Rounds
Bracket Knockout Format:
Qualified participants will compete in head-to-head matchups on stage.
Each round features the same typing passage for both competitors, displayed side-by-side.
The participant with the better performance advances, while the other is eliminated.
The format continues in knockout style until the final winner is determined.
Final Round Experience:
Designed to be engaging, audience-friendly, and easy to follow.
Ideal format for 8 or 16 finalists.
Builds excitement through progressive elimination leading to the final showdown.
