One-Day Sprint from Idea to Prototype As part of the Vibes to App program, this 8-hour hackathon gives you the chance to put your newly acquired skills into action. Step into a real-world scenario with clear constraints, tight timelines, and a tangible goal: ship a working prototype before the day is over. Apply everything learned so far — system design, version control, data storage, and AI-assisted development workflows. Ideate and collaborate under realistic time pressure. Build a functional prototype using the tools from the course. Practice communicating your product vision. Gain confidence in your ability to go from zero → shipped in hours, not weeks. Join solo or form a team. The hackathon is open to everyone at NS (not just participant of the Vibes to App course). This hackathon is about turning ideas into working prototypes in a single day. It is the practical extension of the Vibes to App philosophy: start with an intuition → shape it into a system → bring it to life with code. Some ideas for you to build: a social tool for NS, a creative experience, a small SaaS, an AI-powered utility, a workflow automation, a game, or something delightfully weird. Schedule 10h - Team formation, brainstorming, scoping, and planning. 11h-17h - Build, Hack, Debug. 17:30h - Demos presentations. 19h - Closing Ceremony — Jury acknowledgments, awards and celebration. The Closing Ceremony — in Collaboration with Unveiled Studio at NS. At the end of the sprint, we’ll transition to a special closing ceremony hosted in partnership with Unveiled Studio at the Network School. This will take place in their private space at the hotel. Jury of technologists, creatives, and AI practitioners will review the day’s prototypes and reveal the standout teams. The jury will be looking for originality, clarity of execution, and the courage to build ambitiously within tight constraints. The ceremony will close with prize awards and a celebration of creative feats and courageous builders! What You’ll Walk Away With About the end of the hackathon, participants will have: A functional demo they built in a single day. A deeper understanding of how to scope, prototype, and iterate quickly. Real-world collaboration experience. A portfolio-ready project to showcase. The confidence to build — independently or with a team. This event is designed to help you move from idea to impact, building the momentum that will carry you into Week 4, where you’ll integrate authentication, polish your app, and deploy it live.
