Event Overview:
Organized by Developer Student Clubs (DSC).
Hackin’ Winter is a multi-day hackathon designed to bring together innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving under one roof.
This hackathon will be conducted in a hybrid format (offline + online) and is exclusively for JIIT students.
Participants will ideate, build, and refine impactful solutions with the help of mentorship, followed by competitive evaluation rounds and final judging.
Event Timeline:
31st January 2026 (Saturday) | 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM:
Hackathon Orientation, Kick-off & Offline Hacking period.
Introduction to Hackin’ Winter.
Overview of problem statements.
Rules, evaluation criteria & team guidelines.
Open Q&A session.
In-person hacking session at campus.
Team ideation and initial development.
On-ground support from the organizing team.
1st February 2026 (Sunday):
Online Hacking Period.
Continued development in online mode.
Mentorship Round with experienced mentors.
Elimination Round based on innovation, progress, and implementation.
Refinement of solutions using mentor feedback.
2nd February 2026 (Monday) | 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM:
Final Judging Round & Results.
Final presentations by shortlisted teams.
Evaluation by expert judges.
Announcement of results and winners.
Hackathon Guidelines:
Only students of Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT) are eligible to participate.
Team size must be strictly 3–4 members.
Teams can include members from both JIIT Sector 62 and JIIT Sector 128.
Students from all academic years are allowed.
Interdisciplinary teams are allowed and encouraged (members from different branches/domains).
First-year students will have a separate winning category, ensuring fair competition and recognition.
Prize Structure (All amounts in INR ₹):
Winner: ₹4,000 + Goodies + Certificate.
1st Runner-Up: ₹3,000 + Goodies + Certificate.
2nd Runner-Up: ₹2,000 + Goodies + Certificate.
Special Category (First-Year Students):
Best First-Year Team: ₹1,000 + Goodies + Certificate.
The special first-year category is independent of the main prizes and is aimed at encouraging freshers to participate and innovate.
