Plutonium is a 12-hour hardware hackathon designed to bring together innovative undergraduate students to build impactful hardware solutions. The event encourages creativity, technical expertise, and teamwork across multiple engineering domains.

Round 1: Idea Submission (Online – PPT Screening)

Only shortlisted teams will proceed to Round 2.
Round 2: Prototype Development (Online)
Date: 14th March,2026
Description:Shortlisted teams from Round 1 will develop a functional prototype (partial or working model).
Submissions May Include:
List of components used
Partially completed hardware model
Working Proof-of-Concept (POC)
Prototype demonstration video
Evaluation Criteria:
Technical approach
Functionality
Design clarity
Implementation progress
Teams successfully evaluated in this round will advance to the final round.
Round 3: Final Build & Presentation (Offline)
Date: 28th& 29th March,2026
Venue: Vasantdada Patil Pratishthan's College of Engineering and Visual Arts, Mumbai, Maharashtra
Time: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Duration: 12 Hours
Description:Teams will build and refine a complete working hardware solution during the hackathon.
Final Submission Includes:
Live product demonstration
Technical presentation before a judging panel
Explanation of design clarity and working mechanism
The round includes mentoring, development, evaluation, and final presentations.
Eligibility:
Open to Undergraduate (UG) students.
Open to Indian and International participants.
Students from all colleges/universities are eligible.
Valid college/university ID is mandatory.
Outstation participants are allowed.
Accommodation:
Accommodation will be provided only for outstation participants.
Valid proof of residence (college ID/address proof) is required.
Details will be shared with shortlisted teams.
Team Rules:
Team size: 2–4 members.
Inter-college teams are allowed.
No team member changes allowed after registration.
A participant can be part of only one team.
Rules & Guidelines:
Participants must bring their own laptops and required accessories.
Only original work is allowed (no pre-built or plagiarized projects).
Participants must follow timelines and event code of conduct.
Judges’ and organisers’ decisions will be final and binding.
Registration Fees:
Participants are required to pay a registration fee of ₹500 at the time of Round 1.
This fee covers participation in the event, and selected teams advancing to Round 3 (Final Round) will be provided with food and refreshments during the round.
