CTRL+Z: Reboot Reality is a national-level hackathon designed to test participants’ ability to analyze failures, think strategically, and redesign broken systems into impactful solutions. Participants will step into the role of innovators, strategists, and problem-solvers to rethink failed ideas and rebuild them into smarter, more effective solutions. Objective: Develop critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills. Encourage innovation through reverse engineering and redesign. Build strategic thinking and decision-making abilities. Enhance creativity in solving real-world product and system failures. Strengthen presentation and justification skills relevant for placements and industry challenges. Eligibility: Open to all Undergraduate students. Individual participation only. No technical or coding background required. Competition Format: Single-round hackathon. Participants will be given a “failure case” at the start of the competition. Cases may include failed startups, broken systems, poor product experiences, or real-world operational challenges. Participants will have 24 hours to analyze the problem and propose a complete solution. Detailed problem statements and submission guidelines will be shared on the day of the competition. Important Dates: Registration Deadline: 16th May 2026, 9:00 PM. Competition Start: 16th May 2026, 9:00 PM. Submission Deadline: 17th May 2026, 10:00 PM. Submission Details: Submission format: PPT(6–10 slides recommended). Participants must clearly present: Failure analysis, Root cause identification, Proposed solution, Expected impact and feasibility. Optional demo/mockup/wireframe can be included. Final submission guidelines will be shared on the competition day. Rules & Guidelines: Individual participation only. Original work only — plagiarism will lead to disqualification. AI tools are allowed but the solution must reflect your own thinking and analysis. Late submissions will not be accepted. Participants must ensure clarity and proper justification of their solutions. The decision of the organizing team will be final.
