Code Relay 4.0 is an online hackathon hosted by the Web and Design Society of IIT Bhubaneswar. Now in its fourth edition, Code Relay continues its legacy of bringing together talented students from across the country to innovate, collaborate, and build impactful solutions, primarily in the domains of Web2, Blockchain, and other emerging technologies. This high-energy event challenges participants to transform ideas into working prototypes through intense brainstorming, coding, and problem-solving, all from the comfort of their own locations. The hackathon culminates in a competitive coding round, where teams demonstrate their technical execution and creativity. Get ready to code, create, and compete at Code Relay 4.0! Eligibility Criteria: Participants must form a team of minimum 2 and maximum 5 members. All participants must submit their ideas as part of a team; individual submissions will not be considered. Pre-registration: All the participants are requested to star the GoFr Github repo and submit and screenshot along with the registration. Repo Link : https://github.com/gofr-dev/gofr Hackathon Guidelines: Round 1: Online Idea Submission Teams are required to submit their idea proposal for any track within the specified domains. Submissions must strictly follow the provided submission template. Each team must submit one idea and one PPT. Based on the idea submissions, shortlisted teams will be selected for the next round. Only selected teams will advance to Round 2. Round 2: Online Coding Round Shortlisted teams will participate in an online coding round. Teams are encouraged to use the pre-hackathon period for planning and research, but all core development must be done during the official hackathon window. Use of pre-existing projects from previous hackathons is not allowed unless explicitly disclosed beforehand. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. The coding round will span 48 hours, during which teams will build, test, and refine their solutions. Teams will be evaluated based on technical implementation, innovation, problem relevance, and overall execution. Additional Info: Teams may comprise members from different colleges, provided all members are pursuing an undergrad or postgrad pursuing course irrespective of discipline. Team changes or shuffling will not be permitted once the team is registered. Implementation of any other technologies like AI/ML are also welcomed Tracks: Web 2 Tracks: Open Innovation: Building for India Rethink solutions for the size and diversity of India through cross-domain innovation. This track encourages submissions that tackle national issues in digital governance, sustainable development, healthcare accessibility, education equity, climate resilience, mobility, and infrastructure in India. Develop scalable, inclusive, and technology-driven solutions that harness the power of India’s digital public infrastructure. FinTech & Financial Inclusion: Develop secure and inclusive financial offerings for all users. Focus on innovations in digital payments, credit, insurance, fraud, and financial literacy leveraging the robust fintech ecosystem in the world. Mobility & Transportation Innovation: Moving India Forward Reimagine how India moves in a world of increasing urbanization and mobility needs. Develop intelligent and scalable solutions for traffic, public transportation, EV charging, logistics, and road safety. Prioritize sustainable and data-enabled mobility solutions that alleviate congestion, enhance accessibility, and enable India’s transition to a smart and ready-for-the-future transportation ecosystem. Engineering the Flow of Trade: Create accessible logistics infrastructure to support small and growing businesses in managing delivery, inventory, and supply chains. This will enable real-time tracking, route optimization, and intuitive dashboards that will minimize costs and maximize efficiency in trade. Web 3 Tracks : Scalability and High-Throughput Infrastructure: Develop Layer 2 solutions or faster consensus mechanisms that enable high-frequency transactions without the high costs and slow speeds of Layer 1 chains. Layer 1 security should not be compromised. Decentralised Storage & Content Persistent: Utilize decentralized storage (IPFS/Filecoin) to build applications that ensure content is persistent. Privacy-Preserving Compliance: Implement decentralized identity solutions using Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs). This enables users to verify their identity and meet global regulatory standards (KYC/AML) while maintaining data sovereignty, ensuring that sensitive personal information is never stored on-chain or shared with unauthorized parties. Decentralised Identity (DID) & Privacy Management: Develop self-sovereign identity solutions that allow users to control their personal data without relying on central authorities (e.g., Google/Facebook logins), specifically addressing privacy issues on public blockchains.
