About the Event: WIE Hacks 2026 is a national-level online hackathon organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group of Rajalakshmi Engineering College. The event aims to encourage female students to develop innovative solutions for real-world challenges through collaboration, creativity, and technical problem-solving. Participants will ideate, design, and develop prototypes addressing important social and technological issues, and present their solutions to an expert jury panel. Themes: HealthTech for Women, Women’s Safety and Security, Smart and Sustainable Communities, FinTech and Financial Empowerment, EdTech and Skill Development, Open Innovation. Eligibility Criteria: Open to female students from all colleges and universities. Students from all departments and specializations are eligible. Inter-college teams are allowed. Inter-specialization teams are allowed. Both IEEE and Non-IEEE members can participate. Team Composition: Minimum 3 members per team, Maximum 4 members per team, Only female participants are allowed, Each participant can be part of only one team. Event Format: Round 1 – Ideathon Teams must submit an innovative idea along with a presentation during registration. The idea submission should include: Problem Statement, Proposed Solution, Expected Impact, Implementation Approach. Submissions will be evaluated by the review panel. Shortlisted teams will advance to the next round. Shortlisted teams must pay ₹100 per team to participate in Round 2. Round 2 – Prototype Development Shortlisted teams will participate in a 24-hour online hackathon. Teams will develop their prototype remotely. At the end of the hackathon, teams must present their prototype and demonstrate their solution to the jury through an online presentation and demo. Submission Requirements: During Round 1: Registration form, Idea presentation (PPT). During Round 2: Prototype demonstration, Presentation explaining the solution, Supporting materials relevant to the project (if required). Rewards: Total Prize Pool: ₹20,000, 1st Prize, 2nd Prize, 3rd Prize, Certificates will be provided to all shortlisted teams. Important Guidelines: All submissions must be original work of the participants. Teams must build their prototype remotely since the hackathon is conducted online. Final project demonstrations and evaluations will be conducted online. Teams must ensure active participation from all members. Rules: Each participant can register only once. Participants can be part of only one team. Teams must strictly follow the team size requirement (3–4 members). Any form of plagiarism will lead to disqualification. The decision of the jury and organizing committee will be final and binding. Additional Information: Teams shortlisted after Round 1 must pay a registration fee of ₹100 per team to proceed to Round 2.
