Sensor Sprint:
A two round technical event that blends the knowledge and creativity in the field of IoT and smart automation.
The events takes participants through a variety of question that makes them use their theoretical and application based knowledge to solve the real-world problems.
It includes their basic understanding of IoT, Arduino, raspberry pi, sensors and related IoT components.
Team Size:
2 to 3
Round 1:
The first round focuses on evaluating the participants conceptual clarity in IoT.
This round uses a mixed format that includes multiple choice questions, matching components with their applications, fill in the blanks, identifying sensors from descriptions, and listing suitable components for given scenarios etc.
This round ensures that teams understand how different IoT components work together before moving on to practical implementation.
Duration:
25 mins
Evaluation Criteria:
Correct ness of answers based on the answer key
Time used to complete in case of a tie or if needed
Round 2:
Participants are given a real-time problem scenario that requires a practical solution.
Teams must analyze the situation, select appropriate hardware such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi, choose suitable sensors and actuators, design the system logic, and build a working prototype.
The emphasis is on creativity, correct component selection, functionality, and the ability to transform an idea into a working model within the given time.
Duration:
1 hour 30 minutes
Evaluation Criteria:
Appropriate component selection
Functionality of the prototype
Innovation and creativity
Efficiency of design
