About the Hackathon:
DataVortex SkyIntellect Hackfest 2026 is a global 24-hour software hackathon organized by student-led clubs of KL University – including the DataScience_AI Dynamos Club, Garuda Club, Cyber Security club and Skill Development. This hackathon invites student innovators to develop impactful, software-based solutions in emerging domains such as Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Drone Technology. With expert mentorship, global collaboration, and an exciting offline finale, it's an ideal platform to learn, innovate, and grow.
Rules & Guidelines:
Teams must consist of 1 to 6 members.
No multiple entries per participant.
Each team may submit only one idea.
Submissions must be made through Unstop or Devpost.
Projects must be original and developed during the hackathon.
All team members must bring their own components.
Participants must stay on campus for the full duration of the offline event. Accommodation is provided on paid basis (low cost).
Exciting prizes and appreciation certificates will be awarded to the Top teams. Prize distribution may take time and is subject to evaluation and performance.
Participants should follow only official communications shared via the website and email.
Teams must stay active and responsive regarding review schedules and shortlisting announcements.
Prizes & Recognition:
Exciting prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 teams in each domain – Data Science, Cybersecurity, and Drone Technology. The Runner-up team in each domain will also receive special rewards and recognition for their outstanding performance. All Top 3 teams from every domain will be honored with exciting prizes and appreciation certificates.
Timelines & Important Dates:
Registrations Open: 12 March 2026. Last Date to Register: 14th April 2026.
Hackathon Timeline:
Idea Submission – 12th March to 14th April 2026 Participants are invited to submit their innovative ideas based on the given problem statements. Ideas should be original, well-structured, and aligned with the objectives of the hackathon. Phase 1: Idea Shortlisting (PPT Selection) – Result on 5th May 2026. Submitted ideas and presentations will be evaluated by a panel of experts based on innovation, feasibility, and relevance. Shortlisted teams will be selected to proceed to the next phase. Phase 2.1: Online Presentation (Technical) – 14th May to 4th June 2026. Shortlisted teams will present the technical aspects of their solutions virtually to the jury. Teams must clearly explain the system architecture, technologies used, and implementation approach. Phase 2.2: Online Presentation (Business) – 9th June to 25th June 2026. Teams will present the business feasibility and real-world implementation of their solutions. The jury will evaluate the target users, market potential, scalability, and practical impact. Phase 2 Results Announcement – 16th July 2026. Teams selected for the final round will be officially announced based on their performance in the technical and business presentations. Final Round (Offline) – KLEF Campus. Finalist teams will participate in the offline hackathon event at KLEF campus, where they will develop and demonstrate working prototypes of their solutions. The most innovative and impactful solutions will receive awards and recognition.
