InnovateX – Business Innovation Challenge
InnovateX is a real-world tech-enabled problem-solving competition where teams analyze a problem statement, design an innovative solution, and present a structured, impactful business/technology proposal.
Guidelines:
Eligibility:
Open to all engineering undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Students from any specialization of Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) can participate.
Inter-college teams are not allowed.
Inter-specialization teams are allowed.
Cross-year teams are permitted.
Team Formation
Team size: 2 to 4 members.
One person cannot be part of more than one team.
All members must belong to recognized educational institutions.
Competition Format
Round 1: Problem-Based Solution Pitch
A real-life managerial/technological problem will be provided.
Teams must propose a tech-enabled solution supported by logic, feasibility, and innovation.
Submit a presentation (PPT) as per the guidelines provided.
Top teams shortlisted based on creativity, clarity, and practicality will qualify for Round 2.
Round 2: Dataset-Based Analytics & Decision-Making Round
Shortlisted teams will receive a dataset.
Teams must analyze the data using relevant analytical tools.
Participants will answer the provided questions and build insights demonstrating data-driven decision-making.
The final submission must include:
Analysis summary
Visualizations (if required)
Structured responses to the questions
Duration
Round 1: Preparation window will be mentioned in the problem document.
Round 2: Duration mentioned along with the dataset (typically 1–2 hours).
Problem Statements / Questions
Round 1 will have one real-world problem statement provided to all teams.
Round 2 will include multiple data-based questions tied to the dataset.
The complexity will be moderate to advanced.
Rules
General Rules
All submissions must be original. Plagiarized or AI-generated work without modification will lead to disqualification.
Decisions made by the judging panel will be final and binding.
Teams must adhere to the deadlines for both rounds.
Any attempt to influence judges or organizers will result in disqualification.
Maintain professional conduct during presentations and Q&A rounds.
Round-Specific Rules
Round 1
Only one PPT submission per team.
Maximum slide limit will be communicated in the problem statement.
The proposed solution must be feasible, ethical, and implementable.
Round 2
External assistance or collaboration with non-team members is strictly prohibited.
Teams must use only the dataset provided.
The use of Python, Excel, Power BI, or other analysis tools is allowed unless specified otherwise.
Answers must be backed by logical reasoning and data insights.
