Virtual Lab Hackathon 2026 is a hybrid hackathon consisting of an online submission round followed by an offline final round. The offline final round will be held at Dayalbagh Educational Institute (Deemed to be University), Agra.

Eligibility:
The hackathon is open to Engineering and Science students pursuing Undergraduate, Postgraduate, or Diploma programs. Students from any recognized institute are eligible to participate.
Team Composition:
Participation is allowed individually or in teams of 1 to 4 members. Both inter-college and inter-specialization teams are permitted.
Problem Statements:
Participants may select one of the following seven themes:
Mechanical: Classroom Thermal Simulation & HVAC Control
Computer Science: Algorithmic “Glass Box” Simulator
Electrical: Microgrid Simulator & Daily Energy Scheduler
Civil: Interactive Structural Response Simulator
Agriculture: Crop Water Stress Simulation
Footwear: Simulated Comfort & Wear Prediction
Innovation: Open Innovation using Virtual Labs technologies
Submission Requirements:
Each team must submit a working MVP or functional prototype along with a presentation prepared strictly using the official PPT template. Submissions that do not follow the prescribed format or lack a demonstrable prototype may be rejected.
Event Process & Rounds:
The event begins with the registration phase, during which teams are formed and problem statements are selected. This is followed by the online submission round, where teams must submit their PPT and MVP/prototype before the deadline. Based on the evaluation, ten teams will be shortlisted and invited to participate in the offline final round, where teams will present and demonstrate their solutions on campus at Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra.

Judging Criteria:
Evaluation will be based on:
Innovation and Creativity (30%),
Technical Complexity (30%),
User Experience and Interactivity (25%),
and Alignment with the Selected Theme (15%).
Rewards and Recognition:
The top three teams will receive a prestigious internship opportunity at Virtual Labs (Ministry of Education, Government of India) along with a stipend of ₹15,000 per month for each student. The top ten finalist teams will be awarded certificates of achievement and gain networking opportunities with experts and peers.
Rules and Regulations:
Each team may submit only one solution, and all submissions must be original. Any form of plagiarism will lead to disqualification. Teams must strictly use the official PPT template and ensure that their MVP or prototype is fully functional. Shortlisted teams must be physically present for the offline final round. The judges’ decision will be final and binding, and the organizers reserve the right to modify rules, timelines, or shortlisting criteria if required.
