From Hackathon to Investor Pitch in 4 Weeks
Wellster × med-dev × Spira Labs
Curious what happens when a hackathon doesn’t end with demos — but with a real investor pitch?
Together with Wellster and Spira Labs, med-dev.org is launching a focused healthcare hackathon that doesn’t stop at demos. Selected teams will continue beyond the event, receive targeted coaching, and pitch their work in front of investors just four weeks later.
🧩 The Format
The hackathon is structured in three stages:
🏁 Hackathon @ Wellster
You will be matched into curated, interdisciplinary teams working on clearly framed healthcare challenges close to real data, workflows, and clinical reality. At the end of the hackathon, a jury selects the top teams to continue.
This phase will take place on the 28th of March 2026, 10:00 - 29th of March, 22:00 at the HQ of Wellster Healthtech Group.
🛠️ 4-Week Coaching & Build Phase
You will enter a focused build phase and receive weekly expert coaching from Spira Labs. The goal is to sharpen your solution, validate assumptions, and prepare an investor-ready pitch.
🎤 Grand Finale Pitch Night @ Spira Labs
The hackathon concludes with a live pitch night where you will present your project in front of investors and experts.
The finale is planned at Spira Labs in the end of April. The exact date will be announced.
🏆 Prizes
Of course, an awesome prize awaits you at the end of the hackathon.
At the Grand Finale Pitch Night at Spira Labs, a total of €2,000 in prize money will be awarded.
Beyond the cash prizes, you’ll pitch in front of investors and experts, receive structured feedback, and gain real visibility for potential follow-up conversations.
🚀Challenges
A key part of the hackathon is the opportunity to build with anonymized, structured medical data provided by Wellster. Teams can choose their own angle, for example:
Turning fragmented patient information into a coherent “digital patient record” viewBuilding clinician-facing dashboards that surface the right information at the right timeIntegrating wearables and continuous data streams into a patient timelineCreating insight generation, data mining, and visualization tools to support better decisionsDeveloping data structuring and standardization approaches that improve interoperability and exportability for research or downstream systems
We aim to form interdisciplinary teams combining medical and technical backgrounds to ensure solutions are both clinically grounded and technically feasible.
Interested in participating? Apply to secure one of the limited spots and join us for the hackathon on March 28-29 at Wellster HQ.
