Welcome to the Technex 2026 Game Jam—a high-energy challenge designed for passionate game developers to demonstrate their creativity, innovation, and technical expertise. Over the course of two immersive weeks, participants will conceptualize, design, and develop a game based on a theme revealed at the start of the jam. The experience culminates in a live pitch where teams present their projects to a distinguished panel of judges who evaluate both technical execution and creative vision. Eligibility: Open to all college students and passionate game developers. Participants must be available for an online pitch event during Technex 2026. Registration: All participants must register via the official portal to confirm participation. Team Size: Upto 4 members allowed (as per Itch.io jam standards). Timeline: Theme Reveal: March 1st, 2026. Jam Duration: March 1st – March 10th, 2026 (Development & Submission on Itch.io). Shortlisting Phase: Submissions evaluated based on predefined judging criteria. Final Online Pitch: During Technex 2026 (Exact date to be announced). Problem Statements: Themed Game Development: Format: Online Jam hosted on Itch.io followed by an Online Pitch. Theme: To be revealed on March 1st (Hint: Adapt). Objective: Build a playable game from scratch that integrates the revealed theme. The game should showcase original mechanics, narrative, and technical proficiency. Submission Requirements & Deliverables: Game Submission: Upload completed games to the official Itch.io jam page by March 10th, 2026. Accepted Formats: Web builds (HTML5), executables, or any format supported by Itch.io. Pitch Requirements: Shortlisted teams must provide a 3–5 minute presentation explaining the game concept, mechanics, and development process. Assets: Only original or royalty-free assets are permitted. All external resources must be credited. Judging Criteria: Creativity: Originality and innovation of the core concept. Gameplay: Engagement, mechanics, and overall player experience. Presentation: Integration of visuals, audio, and narrative. Theme Integration: Relevance and interpretation of the theme. Pitch Quality: Clarity and effectiveness of the online presentation.
